Living Landscape: An immersive retreat shaped by the rhythms of the Hill Country

Nestled within the vast and varied terrain of the Texas Hill Country, this boutique hospitality destination offers a refined, grounded experience that honors the land and its legacy. Designed to sit lightly on the site, the Inn is composed of a series of low-impact structures thoughtfully woven into the natural contours of the hillside—celebrating open space, quiet immersion, and deep connection to place.

The project is envisioned as a model of environmental sensitivity and regenerative design. Architecture and landscape are seamlessly integrated, with local materials and low-impact strategies shaping a guest experience that is both elevated and intentionally rooted. A palette of stone, wood, and native plantings reflects the rugged beauty of the region, while passive systems and compact building footprints reinforce a commitment to sustainability.

At the heart of the site lies a working agricultural hub—’the Farm’—a living landscape that blends ecological education with culinary excellence. Here, a spa, restaurant, and activity center are centered around a 1.5-acre organic farm and orchard. Designed for year-round production, the farm employs bio-intensive methods that minimize water use and eliminate synthetic inputs, supplying fresh ingredients to the onsite restaurant while inviting guests into the rhythms of the land.

The broader property reveals a rich natural tapestry: peach orchards and beekeeping colonies support restored wildflower meadows, while oak savannas and bald cypress groves lead visitors through a network of trails, canyons, and riverfront exploration. Each element of the design is guided by the principle that luxury and land stewardship are not only compatible—they are deeply interconnected.
